March 2024

Well the days are getting slightly longer and the temperatures, on average, are gradually edging higher. Thoughts of spring are certainly abounding within everyone. And, with spring just around the corner we will soon celebrate our most holy season, Easter. The corresponding timing of Easter and spring is certainly noteworthy and beyond mere coincidence. A season of new life coupled with the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The time when Jesus gave us a path to cleanse our sins and broke the stranglehold of death for us. There are many passages speaking to this great gift. One such verse can be found in Ephesians 1:7-8, “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us.” It is certainly the greatest gift any of us will ever receive and all that is required from us is faith in Jesus Christ and a true repentance of our sins. Praise be to God.

While we continue our search for a new pastor to lead our congregation, we have been blessed to have some consistency with the ongoing pastorship of Reverend Terry Wimmer. He led us in Ash Wednesday service and will lead us through the Lent season and Easter service. We are truly grateful. The newly installed council held two meetings so far this year. I am grateful for all that have volunteered their time and appreciate having Dana Richard accept the vice president role and Dave Gibson accepting the secretary position. It is all the volunteers that make St. John’s function and enable us to spread God’s word and have such a positive outreach in the community. Thank you all.

I wish you all a Happy Easter and pray that its message connects with you and brings you closer to Christ.

In Christ,

Eric Foster
Council President
