“Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed. I am your God. I will strengthen you and I will help you. I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.”

Isaiah 41:10

Dear Friends in Christ,

Although I am writing this article before the Car Show actually happens, I am saying thank you to everyone for making it a great success again this year. It takes a lot of planning and cooperation and it is a lot of work but it is well worth the effort.

It welcomes the community to St. John’s and provides a nice family friendly event for all to enjoy. I enjoy it every year. It’s easy for me because I only have two main jobs: Pray for good weather and go around and talk to people. The Lord always answers prayer. We just have to accept His answer knowing that His blessing is upon us and we have so much to be thankful for. There are so many aspects of the Car Show to appreciate. The FOOD is always fantastic. The cars always are great. FAMILY always have FUN. And the whole event is seasoned with FAITH. Now that’s a winning combination. And the donation from the proceeds for the Etchberger Veterans Service Center shows our support and appreciation of a worthy cause in the greater community.

The theme verse for this year’s Car Show was Isaiah 41:10 and came from Mickey and Lucy Fink who sponsored the dash plaques. That’s an important Bible verse to Mickey and he carries that verse with him wherever he goes. He has it tattooed on his arm and reminds him as it does all of us that the Lord is with us wherever we go. In the Old Testament God called His chosen people and God calls us today. We are His own. God considers us friends when we give ourselves to Him. As God’s friends we know He is always with us and will bring us through anything life throws at us. Every generation has its problems and God has been there through it all. God is still at work in the lives of His people. Whenever you are worried or overwhelmed talk to God, He is only as far away as your next thought or prayer. And when things are going well be sure to give Him thanks and praise.

God bless you all,
Pastor Dan
