July 2022

“My country ‘tis of thee, sweet land of liberty…”

Patriotic Hymn

Dear Friends in Christ,

I hope you’re having a great summer so far. The 4th of July, Independence Day,is a day we all look forward to. Everybody loves the parades and fireworks. I hope we never take our country or our freedom for granted. The blessings we have in the United States aren’t enjoyed by many around the world. And they came at the hand of a gracious and loving God and great personal cost by those who founded this great country.

Unfortunately, our country is in turmoil. Moral decay and political ruin are rampant. Mass shootings, crime, and corruption are common place. We need to return to the high ideals that made our country a godly nation. We need to return to God and the principles in the Bible. But many have become indifferent or rebelled against Biblical teachings. And in many cases people have become lazy and spoiled.

The Church stands as a place of hope and salvation in these troubled times. Let us continue to pray for our country and our elected leaders that they may seek God’s wisdom rather than their own agendas. When our leaders take us in the wrong direction “we must obey God rather than man” as it says in Acts 4:19 and 5:29.

Wherever we find ourselves, we must be responsible citizens, as well as committed Christians. Come to Church on July 4th weekend and hear more of the history and commitment that is part of our heritage as Christians. And worship God who from all good things come to preserve us and this great nation. We’ll be singing “My Country Tis of Thee.”

God bless you and Happy Fourth of July,
Pastor Dan

P.S. Hope to see you at the Car Show. There will be a Mustang there I want to show you.
